My Native American grandmother always told me hawks were messengers for the hidden things of the world. She told me their vision was tack sharp and they could see far off into a great distance.
Hawks have always been in my circle and appear to me most everyday of my life. I have said before this species of bird life is my favorite to photograph. Hours upon hours I have stood in wait for them to appear in the right place so I could capture an image. I always tried to focus on the eyes because my grandmother said that was the gateway to their soul. She said if you can reach deep enough there will be a strong message for you. But, if you get distracted by other things, the message will wait until another time.
I asked her one day will the hawk ever stop following me? She told me, “if there was no more messages for you then the hawk will go away.” She said “when the message is understood then you have gained access into a special place.”
The hawks are still around me so I think there is more to learn.
