Yesterday I posted an article about the power of a black & white image. Today I am publishing this image of this pair of Roseate Spoonbills in color. I don’t believe they would want it any other way and deservingly so. Those beautiful dark pink feathers are strikingly brilliant in color.
A couple of days ago I received an email from someone asking me, “What was my desire for my photography career?”
I simply said, “I have none.” I just love to make images that tell stories and hopefully spark an emotion in the person seeing my images. I am endlessly grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way during my life as a photographer. It has been a genuine source of my joy and has pulled me through some really hard times. The reason I share my creativity with the world in hopes it gives a flicker of the peace of mind it has given to me.
I never bothered with the technical side of things, what camera to use, the settings, the gear etc. Nikon has always been my go to camera and it has worked for me on all levels no matter which model I held in my hand. I made it work. I never stopped to analyze, I just did what came naturally. Just as nature provided.
This journey has been nothing but a spiritual walk for me. It was the place I connected with God the most. Every other path pulled me way off course and lead to struggle and frustration. So when the heart finds a home, nothing can stand in the way.
